I’m not a musician. I cannot play an instrument. I had piano lessons as a child but I have forgotten all of it.
What I am is a lover of words, who are intimate friends with music.
Words and music attract one another, they complete one another. Words have their music if you place them in the right order.
When words are together with music they sing and become an orchestra of endless possibilities.
Writers need to be good listeners, in order to compose sentences that are pleasing to the eye and the ear. I like to think my ear has a certain level of musicality. I may not be a musician but I try to listen with a musician's sensibility.
Listening to music is the closest we come to magic, a piece of music will put you in a good mood when you are depressed, will take you to a place or back to any time or memory you may have. In a strange incantation that connects to intimate emotions.
Listening is about my eclectic journey through my varied music tastes, each post is a story of how I’ve discovered different musicians, fallen in love, become obsessed and been touched by them.
This is my journey through life, while randomly discovering amazing music and sharing it with you.
My own musical desires one song at a time.
